Early Life and Family[]
Jay Andhek lived a good a life in his early years attending high school in New Berlin, but it his calling was at Starfleet. At his parent's multiple requests as a child, he was asked to join Starfleet. He worked hard to impress his parents in everyway and succeeded and by the age of seventeen, he was accepted into Starfleet Academy. However, the year prior both of his parents were killed in an explosion at the Utopia Planetia Shipyards, where both of them worked as civilian ship designers for Starfleet. Until he formally joined Starfleet Academy, he stayed with his Aunt Cassandra.

Starfleet Academy (2363-2366)[]
Jay's time at Starfleet Academy was one of prestige. He was one of the brightest students seen at Starfleet Academy and was personally recommended for the Cadet Commander position for the 2366-67 school year by then-Professor Winston Cummings. He graduated near the top of his class (3rd out of over 600 cadets). Despite his high class ranking, Jay had no interest in Command. Military tactics had always fascinated him, especially stories of Starfleet's early years when Starfleet's now defunct MACO's would travel with starships on high profile missions. The rising Cadet pursued a course of study leading to a career as a Starfleet Security Officer.
USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) (2367-2370)[]
The USS Enterprise-D, the flagship of the Federation fleet was Jay's first assignment and it was a booming one at that especially with the Battle of Wolf 359 that the ship participated in. Jay would serve on the ship for three years until being assigned to the USS Berlin.
