Early Life and Family[]
Violet grew up near the heart of the entire Federation, near Paris where the United Federation of Planets' capital was located. As a child, she knew very well of Starfleet. Violet's mother and father, Sylvie and Jean-Paul respectively, served Starfleet in different capacities and wanted their daughter to serve in their lines of work. Sylvie served as an Engineer climbing up the ranks to Lieutenant Commander until around 2355, when she retired from Starfleet so that she could take care of Violet and her brother while her husband, Jean-Paul, a captain, who commanded the USS Delphi, an Oberth-class Science vessel. The Ames family was one of Starfleet traditions. Her brother Michel on the other hand, seemed to be the rebel in the household, he became an artist and is doing moderately well. One special item to point out about Violet is that she wanted to fly the starships ever since she was a small child. By age 15, she was one of very few young teenagers to be accepted to Starfleet Academy.

Starfleet Academy (2366-2370)[]
Even though Violet was one of the youngest students at the academy, she excelled in all of her academic work as well as her practical exercises at piloting starships. She had the opportunity to test pilot one of the Sovereign-class starships as part of her training and received excellent marks on it. She graduated with top honors and in the top 5% of her graduating class.
USS Berlin (2370-2373)[]
For this being Violet's first assignment, she did well under Captain Robert Garrett as a Flight Control Officer, but it would be her future commanding officer, Samsara Steelman that would ask her to come to her ship, the Sovereign-class USS Gambit where she would serve as Senior Flight Controller as she had been given the honor to test pilot one of the ships of the Gambit's class.

Being Violet's second assignment, she was honored to be the Gambit's Senior Flight Controller.
